ranging from $45 to $58 based on experience

 

Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and evaluating the quality of patient care delivered within the assigned Nursing Unit. This leadership role involves providing clinical and administrative guidance to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient outcomes and staff development.

The ideal candidate will actively participate in strategic planning, including budget development and quality improvement initiatives, while serving as a clinical resource and mentor to the team. The Nurse Manager plays a critical role in aligning departmental goals with the overall mission of The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the delivery and evaluation of patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit.

  • Advise hospital leadership on patient care trends, quality metrics, and departmental budget forecasts.

  • Identify future resource needs and develop strategies to enhance patient care and staff efficiency.

  • Serve as a clinical mentor and educator to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and clinical competence.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

  • Support and enforce hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3–5 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in an acute care Labor & Delivery setting required.

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Licensure: Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required within 6 months of hire

    • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification – required within 6 months of hire

    • ACLS preferred

  • Additional experience in PACU, ICU, High-Risk OB, Operating Room, and/or Postpartum settings preferred.
